What the Workmanship
Warranty Does & Doesn’t Cover

Our workmanship warranty is straightforward. If a problem is caused by how we installed the roof, it’s covered. If it’s caused by nature or the materials, it falls under the manufacturer warranty or insurance.

Roof leaks caused by improper installation of any component
Flashing failures at walls, valleys, penetrations, or chimneys
Shingles or panels lifting due to improper fastening

2

Warranty Inspection Within 48 Hours

A licensed inspector visits your property, typically within 48 hours of your call. We assess the issue and determine whether it falls under workmanship warranty, manufacturer warranty, or requires an insurance claim.

Common questions

Warranty FAQs

What does PeakShield’s 8-Year warranty cover?
PeakShield’s 8-Year workmanship warranty covers defects in installation — including leaks, flashing failures, and any roofing system failure caused by improper workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by acts of nature, storm events, structural movement, or normal wear beyond the warranty term.
Is PeakShield’s warranty separate from the manufacturer warranty?
Yes. The 8-Year PeakShield workmanship warranty is separate from and in addition to the manufacturer’s material warranty. GAF Network and Owens Corning Contractor provide their own warranties covering material defects — typically 25 to 50 years depending on the shingle line. Both warranties apply to your installation.
What is a GAF or Owens Corning manufacturer warranty?
GAF Network and Owens Corning Contractor are two of the largest roofing material manufacturers in the country. Their warranties cover defects in the roofing material itself. As a certified contractor for both, PeakShield can offer enhanced manufacturer warranty coverage unavailable from uncertified installers.
How do I make a warranty claim with PeakShield?
Contact PeakShield directly by phone or through our website. Describe the issue and we will schedule a warranty inspection — typically within 48 hours. If the issue is covered under workmanship warranty, repairs are completed at no charge. There is no claim fee or deductible on PeakShield workmanship warranty claims.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my home?
PeakShield’s workmanship warranty is tied to the property, not the original homeowner. It transfers to subsequent owners within the warranty term at no additional charge. Manufacturer warranties from GAF Network and Owens Corning Contractor may also be transferable — ask your PeakShield estimator at time of installation.
Does PeakShield’s warranty cover storm damage?
No. PeakShield’s workmanship warranty covers installation defects, not storm or weather damage. If your roof sustains storm damage during the warranty period, that damage is handled through your homeowners insurance. PeakShield assists with the insurance claim process at no additional charge.
